ISSI has been around for 26 years. If you're just now hearing about us, that's not an accident, and it's not because we're bad at what we do. It's because we never bothered with the version of marketing where you shout the loudest and hope somebody notices.
We just did the work. Quietly. For 26 years.
That's a long time to stick around in an industry that loves declaring IBM i dead every couple of years. Funny how it keeps not dying, and funnier still how the people saying that usually aren't the ones actually running it.
How we've stayed around this long
Not by chasing every logo we could slap on a website. Not by outspending anyone on ads. We built this the slow, unglamorous way, one relationship at a time, one project done right, one customer who told somebody else about us because we actually delivered.
Twenty-six years of that adds up. It's not flashy. It's not a growth hack. It's just what happens when you do the job well long enough that people stop needing convincing and start just making a phone call.
That's the whole model. Personal recommendations. Long-term relationships. There aren't any shortcuts on a platform like this, just consistent work over time.
IBM i is the best kept secret IBM has
Here's the thing about IBM i: it quietly runs the backbone of a huge number of businesses you interact with every day, and most people outside this world have no idea it exists. It doesn't need a rebrand every few years to stay relevant. It just works, day after day, which is probably why it doesn't get the attention it deserves.
We've never minded that. It just means the people who do understand it end up mattering a lot more than the ones chasing whatever's trendy that year.
And consulting on it? That's ours.
Twenty-six years in, we're not the new shop trying to figure out what an LPAR is. We've been doing this since before it was called Power Systems. That kind of history doesn't show up on a pitch deck, but it shows up in the work.
It also shows up in who's actually doing the work. We're proud to have three IBM Champions on our team: Rochelle "Shelly" Petty, Marina Schwenk, and our owner, Andy Buchholtz. That's not a title IBM hands out for showing up. It's recognition for people who've put in the years and actually know this platform inside and out.
On top of that, we're not just IBM i generalists. We know the rental industry specifically, the systems, the workflows, the headaches that are unique to it, which means we're not learning your business on your dime. We've likely already seen your problem before.
So no, you probably haven't heard of us. That was never the point. The point was being the people your IBM i community actually trusts when something matters, and being here long enough to prove it wasn't a fluke.
Twenty-six years and counting. Quietly.
Want to talk?
No pitch, no strings attached. Email us at sales@issiconsulting.com or reach out to any one of us on the team directly. We'd rather have a real conversation than a sales call, and after 26 years, that's still how we prefer to do business.
